At Beijing’s Capital International Airport (PEK) on August 29, 2024, the first C919 aircraft was delivered by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) to flag carrier Air China. It is the first domestically produced aircraft to be operated by the company and was treated to a traditional water arch salute upon arrival in Beijing. The plane had been ferried from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) where COMAC has its final assembly plant.

Qantas pilots have commenced training in preparation for the arrival of the airline’s first Airbus A321XLR aircraft. As part of its fleet renewal program, the Australian national carrier ordered 28 of the A321XLR aircraft, with the first arrival set for April 2025. Over the next decade, Qantas plans to gradually replace its fleet of Boeing B737 with the A321XLRs.

A CEIBA Intercontinental Boeing 737-800 with registration ET-AWR has overrun the runway at Malabo in Equatorial Guinea, sustaining damage but with no injuries sustained by passengers or crew.
