A few days ago (21st of May 2024), Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 encountered heavy turbulence on a passenger flight from London-Heathrow to Singapore. There were 229 on board, including eighteen crew members. The report shows that the real risk is for the cabin crew. Anyway, the seat belt light appeared.

The turbulence was not as bad as what I was anticipating and for most parts of the flight, it was smooth. Cabin crew came around to do the BOB (Buy On Board) service and this time, we noticed someone ordering water and wasn't charged so we did the same. Off we go, fortunately it wasn't turbulent. He was giggling because we hit a bit of turbulence that was harsh enough to make me almost jam a plastic fork in my head as I tried to fly the plane and eat my chicken salad simultaneously. We hit some severe turbulence, and I flew up and smashed my noggin against the engine anti-ice switches on the overhead. Surf’s Up!
