LATAM Boeing 777 suffers tailstrike on departure from Milan, makes safe return

Having taken off from Milan’s runway 35L at 13:26 local time, the aircraft’s tail made contact with the runway surface as the aircraft rotated. Images posted on social media show the aircraft climbing out leaving a large cloud of dust behind it where the underside of the tail struck the runway surface.

A LATAM jet departing Italy for Brazil suffered a tail strike on takeoff, in what can only be described as a rather strange incident, as reported by The Aviation Herald. However, while rotating, the jet struck its tail on the runway. CCTV shows LATAM Brasil 777-300 tail strike incident while departing Milan Malpensa Airport on Tuesday.
