Having taken off from Milan’s runway 35L at 13:26 local time, the aircraft’s tail made contact with the runway surface as the aircraft rotated. Images posted on social media show the aircraft climbing out leaving a large cloud of dust behind it where the underside of the tail struck the runway surface.

At 1:26PM local time, the aircraft took off from Milan Malpensa Airport’s runway 35L. However, while rotating, the jet struck its tail on the runway. As a result, runway 35L was closed for inspection. Flight performed a fuel dump and landed safely at 12:50 UTC on runway 35R. So, what happened here?

Air India Express Flight 1344 aligned for Runway 10 at Kozhikode Airport but made a left turn and descended to land on Runway 28.
