What I like about the interior of the terminals at this airport is they offer good view of the tarmac which allow great opportunity to take good photos of the aircraft. Window shot photos After pushed back, we took about 15 minutes to reach the runway. Finally we reached the threshold and we were on our way. Goodbye Frankfurt!

In short order we were accelerating down the runway, ascending into the cerulean sky, climbing over the city, and being treated to a breathtaking view of the expansive ocean to the west. Like a sailplane, we glided silently in a lazy, downward spiral until we were lined up with the runway at the correct altitude for our approach.

The airport mayhave 2 runways (runway 14/32 and runway 09/27) but only one runway is in operation (09/27) and if this runway is in maintenance, the other runway will be in used. Once we reached runway 27, we departed just minutes after our schedule departure time. We taxied to runway 27 for departure.
