The left winglet of one of the aircraft collided with the right horizontal stabilizer and elevator of the other. The aircraft sustained damage to the leading edge of the right-hand horizontal stabilizer and was subsequently repaired. The DHC-8 safely returned to Wilson Airport, with all 39 passengers and five crew on board uninjured.
