If avianca wanted a higher capacity aircraft than the 787-8s, it could’ve gone with the 787-9 or 787-10. Assuming this is all as I expect it is, I wonder what made avianca make the switch to Airbus jets for wide body aircraft. Or who knows, maybe it did. The airline argued it was just too big of a plane.

Korean Air is on quite the wide body aircraft shopping spree. The airline recently placed an order for 33 Airbus A350s , and has now placed an order for two of Boeing’s wide body aircraft variants… Korean Air orders up to 50 Boeing wide body jets Korean Air has just placed an order for up to 50 Boeing jets.

We’ve known for some time that Riyadh Air intends to acquire narrow body jets. As a reminder, in March 2023, Riyadh Air placed an order for up to 72 Boeing 787s, including a firm order for 39 jets, plus options for an additional 33 jets. Douglas states that the new wide body order will be placed by 2025.

While Lufthansa has dozens of new wide body aircraft on order, as you can tell, Brussels Airlines isn’t getting any of those. On top of that, Brussels Airlines plans to introduce new interiors on all of these jets, including a new business class, though we don’t have any additional details yet.
