The evolution of the SR22 took a decisive turn with the advent of the Avidyne Entegra primary flight display in 2003, making it the first light aircraft to come with a full glass cockpit. The non-turbo SR22 can still achieve a respectable maximum altitude of 17,500 feet, making it suitable for a wide range of flight profiles.

As we turned to intercept the localizer, the winds were 360 at 53 knots at 2,000 feet, according to our wind vector on the primary flight display. Our groundspeed was a meager 72 knots as we descended on the glideslope. The wind was 52 knots at 2,500 feet and decreased to nearly calm at 6,500 feet.

An autopilot and Aspen primary flight display reduce workload on long flights. I configured the airplane the same way as noted on the Piper Climb chart: 105 mph (91 knots), flaps 10 ° , full throttle. Time To Fly Our aircraft can cruise for about 4 ½ hours plus an hour of reserve fuel at 130 knots.
