During the 54-minute flight, Chief Test Pilot Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg safely navigated the XB-1 to a maximum altitude of 25,040 feet (7,632 meters) and a speed of Mach 0.82 (487 knots true airspeed), demonstrating that the aircraft remains controllable at higher speeds even in the event of SAS failure.

Medical air ambulance crash in Philadelphia claims six lives

A Jet Rescue Learjet 55 ambulance aircraft crashed violently moments after takeoff from North Philadelphia Airport (PNE/KPNE) on January 31, 2025. The Bombardier Learjet 55, registered in Mexico as XA-UCI and operating under the call sign Med Jets 56, was completely destroyed upon impact.

According to CBS , Jet Rescue Air Ambulance confirmed the names of all the aircraft victims which included a child patient and her mother who were being flown back to their home in Mexico after the young girl received treatment at Shriners Childrens Hospital. The data ended one minute later, with the plane at 1,275 feet and traveling at 242 knots. After a slight right turn, the plane entered a gradual left turn, reaching an altitude of 1,650 feet.
