It’s used by aircraft operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR – flying in the clouds). Since I filed an IFR flight plan, I requested the Flagstaff One SID. After takeoff, the SID directs the pilot to fly south to the OATES intersection near Sedona, AZ. We did both!
