I also secured hangar space for the week to the tune of $75 a night. I launched from runway three-two and pointed for the Snow Hill VOR. Once south of Myrtle Beach I was turned direct Charleston VOR. Mary had the garlic knots along with the Italian chop salad. We finished breakfast and headed to the airport.

West of the Geneseo VOR, I passed high above Silver Lake and the gorge in Letchworth State Park. As I passed Kelley's Island, wind streaks in the water out of the southwest indicated a wind of six to eight knots, exactly as forecast. Serpentine tendrils of mist followed the course of the Genesee River south of Letchworth.

Vero Beach Vacation and Gear Issue

We departed Ocean City in very strong gusty winds and pointed for Snow Hill VOR. As we reached the mid peninsula we were rocked by strong wind gusts between 40 and 49 knots at six thousand five hundred. I tucked 3 Tango Charlie in the hangar and we decided to drive to Vero Beach FL. We were still rolling on three good gear.
