I did a check on the weather and I noticed how windy the condition is at Lisbon so one thing for sure, this was probably a bumpy flight. Once we were on our way, we encountered some expected turbulence especially flying through the clouds but once we reached our assigned flight level, it was smooth all the way until we were on final approach.

This was my flight's final assigned gate. I spotted another green stripes livery on this A330-900neo on final approach to this airport. Announcement was made by the Captain about our flight which we would to expect some turbulence especially along the way but no mention about the flight delay. Goodbye Frankfurt!

However I decided to keep it till the hotel to enjoy as I didn't want to make a mess out of it (snack with gravy sauce) as the space was quite limited and I didn't want to spill or splash any gravy onto the neighbour in case if there is sudden turbulence. One thing I won't miss is the dreadful weather. Goodbye Mumbai! Here we are!

I have tried to wait out a storm only to watch a bigger and badder one to move in and the overall weather situation getting worse. We should make more pro-active use of our radios to warn other aviators of threatening weather. They are also not limited to summer soaring weather. Are dry microbursts really invisible?

There were slight turbulence during this flight and it is nothing compare to my return flight, more on that in my next trip report (Aegean A320ceo SKG-ATH). Rolling down the runway in this beautiful weather. There was a bit of light turbulence during our descent. We are on final approach on runway 34 at SKG.

The Captain made the welcome speech and gave us a good update on our flight and the expected turbulence during take-off. After take off, there was some bumps especially flying through the clouds but once we were out of Greece, the weather improved and for the rest of the flight, it was smooth. A big kudos to the ground staff for that!

However, he mentioned that there was turbulence along the way, not a surprise especially June to October period is usually the typhoon season and bad weather is quite common. I wonder whether was it because of the bad weather on route that caused us to push back late. The weather at Singapore at that time was pleasant.

I should be able to do a video call but if there is turbulence, I won’t be surprised if my phone “fly". The captain came to do the announcement and reported fine weather for most parts of the journey except around Singapore where it would be slightly bumpy during the descent. The weather was better than my previous flight.

However, a forecast for low IFR weather in that part of Maine led us to cancel it. I had no interest in flying one hour north only to be shut out of our destination by weather below minimums for the available instrument approach procedure. Still the better part of an hour away from home, weather conditions were concerning.

Usually it gets turbulent at the bay of Bengel but not on this flight. On final approach to LHR runway 27 Left. It was certainly a great day for flying, the weather on route was excellent. The weather at London was certainly gloomy but at least I had a good view of the city before landing.

After take off, the ride was generally smooth but there was turbulence from time to time but the worst was flying over Bay of Bengal near India. During the flight, I used flightradar24 to check on the weather and our flight progress. Good weather sometimes give you beautiful view like this. Sometimes it pays to wait, right?

As this was the first time sitting quite front in the Boeing 767-400ER, I find it to be quite noisy during take off and there was quite a bit of turbulence during the flight. At this point, the flight was smooth thanks to the good weather. At this point, we were on final approach to runway 31L. Welcome back to the U.S!

While waiting for everyone to be settled down, one of the crew approach me and asked if I was willing to move to the emergency row, but it was a middle seat. Anyway we were informed about the turbulence and for this flight, the first officer did the announcements. At this point, we were on final approach. Almost there!

This year, a promising weather forecast featuring high freezing levels (expected to be 9,000+ feet) led to a decision to fly myself. The day before departure, satisfied that days of consistent weather forecasts reasonably assured a successful flight, I cancelled the rental car reservation. So that was of no help to me.

ADS-B provides real-time traffic information and almost-live NEXRAD radar and weather data. Bad data caused by turbulence, turns, and other anomalies was discarded. All of our flying started early in the mornings before afternoon turbulence and storms. My wife graciously keeps Foreflight on her iPad Air as an emergency backup.

Therefore it is common for flight delays in departure and arrival especially if the weather is bad. Anyway, fortunately for us, the ride into Delhi was smooth, hardly any turbulence and furthermore the Captain told us the good news and that is the stormy weather forecasted earlier had cleared. So overall, this flight was smooth.
