The DHC-8, which had been tasked to transport supplies to Niigata in response to the Noto Peninsula earthquake occurring the previous day, had entered the runway at Haneda Airport as the JAL A350 was on final approach. The copilot selected the thrust reversers. The aircraft then bounced to a height of about three feet (2m).
