Air China and China Southern receive their first COMAC C919 narrowbodies

At Beijing’s Capital International Airport (PEK) on August 29, 2024, the first C919 aircraft was delivered by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) to flag carrier Air China. It is the first domestically produced aircraft to be operated by the company and was treated to a traditional water arch salute upon arrival in Beijing. The plane had been ferried from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) where COMAC has its final assembly plant.

On August 26, 2024 it was reported that Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered as CC-BGI was flown from Madrid to Abu-Dhabi as flight LA9950 to be repainted in the LATAM Airlines livery. Pilot Faces Prison For Falsifying Medical Application

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported yesterday that a federal jury has convicted a pilot of twice making false statements to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on his application for a Class 1 medical certificate. The case, dating back to June, involves pilot Olukayode Ojo, 36, of Dallas, Texas. Ojo was found guilty on August 16 on two counts of making false statements.

The Scandinavian carrier filed for Chapter 11 protection in July 2022 after several years of financial difficulties. Boom’s XB-1 supersonic demonstrator aircraft is designed to provide the foundation for the design and development of its supersonic airliner, dubbed Overture. During its second test flight, XB-1 flew for about 15 minutes, reaching an altitude of 10,400 feet and speeds of 232 knots.
