FAA Fast Tracks Electronic Registrations

The FAA published a final rule last week that allows online submission of aircraft registration documents. Previous regulations required registrants to submit original documents and ink-signed documents to register aircraft but the new rule does away with almost all of that. In some cases, certified or true copies will be needed. It’s hoped the modernization move will speed up the process and chip away at the months-long delays in processing aircraft registrations.

Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 goes supersonic for the first time

Boom Supersonics XB-1 demonstrator became the first manned civilian aircraft to break the sound barrier since the end of the Concorde era. The aircraft took off from the Mojave Air and Space Port (MHV), California, at 8.22am local time on January 28, 2025, and headed towards a reserved airspace section over the Mojave Desert which had been previously approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the purpose of this test.

A fire broke out on an Air Busan A321-200 operating flight BX391 bound for Hong Kong at Gimhae International Airport in Busan-Gimhae International Airport in South Korea. The aircraft was filmed by bystanders dramatically falling and crashing into the earth where it exploded in a ball of fire.
