Pima Air and Space Museum Acquires Iconic Philippine Mars

Following the announcement in March by the British Columbia Aviation Museum that it had acquired Martin JRM Hawaii Mars today, with much surprise, the Pima Air and Space Museum (PASM) made public via Facebook its acquisition of the Philippine Mars. Coulson Aviation published a press release announcing that the Philippine Mars will soon find its “forever home” at the PASM in Tucson, Arizona this year.

Navy to Explore Use of eSTOL Aircraft, Issues Contract to Electra

The U.S. Navy has issued a contract to Electra to investigate the use of its electric short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft for logistics in contested environments, the company announced. According to Electra, the aircraft is able to operate with ground rolls of 150 feet, capable of carrying up to nine passengers or 2,500 pounds of cargo, and sports a range of 500 nm.

Gulfstream G700 Enters Service With First Two Deliveries

On Tuesday (April 23), Gulfstream Aerospace announced it delivered the first two G700s to U.S.-based customers. Both are now in service with their buyers. The deliveries come less than a month after Gulfstream received FAA type and production certification (March 29 and April 8, respectively) for the new, Rolls-Royce Pearl 700-powered G700. The engines have greater than 18,000 pounds of thrust, each.

Lufthansa Technik Malta (LTM) has completed its first base maintenance work on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The C-check on a LOT Polish Airlines’ 787-9 comprised of extensive checks of the various systems of the aircraft and its structure, including composite materials. IndiGo Places Order for 60 Rolls-Royce Engines

Rolls-Royce has landed its first deal with low-cost carrier IndiGo, which has placed an order for 60 Trent XWB-84 engines, the manufacturer announced Thursday. New Timeline Projected for MOSAIC Final Rule
