Someone could say there is an “Area 51” situated in Fuerteventura, but in fact there is (apparently the Europe’s first) stratoport built. It should serve for take off and landing of pseudo satelites and high altitude drones. The runway 02/20 is a bit more than 900m long (don’t know if including or excluding the displaced threshold.

On Saturday, Alaska’s Fallen Soldier Cart team held a special ceremony for the final flight of Naval Chief Petty Officer Richard Clyde Higgins. His remains were flown on our Honoring Those Who Serve aircraft from Portland to his final resting place in Southern California, where he will be buried beside his wife. His family, our guests and employees witnessed the emotional and honorable journey for the fallen hero.

Tuesday, April 2, 2024: Religious Rome Tuesday's itinerary called for a tour of "Religious Rome", a differentiation from the previous day's tour of "Ancient Rome", or as the early popes would have called it, "Pagan Rome". In practice, this meant a visit to the country with the highest crime rate in the world: The Vatican City State. This microstate, ruled by the Pope, is the smallest country in the world in terms of both area and population.

April 2, 2024: First Concert The HYSO played their first concert in Rome's St Paul's Within the Walls church. In 1870, Italy adopted a new constitution that allowed non-Roman Catholic churches to be built within the city walls. Prior to that, worship spaces for other religions were required to be built "outside the walls". Construction of the current Episcopal church began with the laying of its cornerstone on January 25, 1873 during the feast of St Paul.
