British Airways has unveiled a new Concorde-inspired first class suite that will feature on Airbus A380 flights starting in 2026. The British flag carrier described the new first class suites as “reflective of modern British luxury travel” that combine “elegant design features” wrapped in a “game changing” product. British Airways said on November 25, 2024, that it wanted passengers to experience a “modern luxury hotel feel” alongside “home comforts and thoughtful British touches”.

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), in association with the Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiative, posted a warning today (posted below in italics) for pilots regarding concern over misfuelling as new unleaded fuels of varying types and octane levels are starting to make their way to market. It cautions pilots to ensure their aircraft – particularly those requiring high-octane fuels – are not misfueled with “the wrong type, grade, or mix of fuel.

EVA Air of Taiwan has revealed expansion plans that will see the Taipei-based carrier launch a new route Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) from its home base at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) on November 3, 2025. The new 7,718 miles (12,349km) flights are expected to operate five times per week using either Boeing 777-300ERs or 787 Dreamliners. According to the airline, Dallas ranks as the world’s third-busiest airport in terms of passenger volume.

The aircraft, which is registered A6-EXA, left Toulouse at 17:00 and, following an unusual route, arrived in Dubai 7h 17m later at 03:17 local time the next day.

China Southern Airlines, the largest airline in Asia by fleet size, has announced its decision to sell all 10 of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft and two spare GEnx-1B70/P2 engines. According to an official intent solicitation notice posted on its website, the sale will be conducted through open bidding. The aircraft, averaging a service life of over a decade , are expected to be delivered to the buyer between 2025 and 2026, pending board approval.

From IFR Magazine reader Thomas Clements: I frequently fly my Saratoga from Glens Falls, New York, to Ogdensburg, New York, over the Adirondack Mountains and through several large military operating areas (MOAs). The same controllers at Boston Center work both civilian aircraft and a lot of military aircraft. Recently, as I was approaching non-towered Ogdensburg, the Boston controller told me I was cleared for the RNAV 27 Approach and to maintain 3,200 feet until established.
