On August 27, 2006, Comair flight 5191 attempted to takeoff from the wrong runway at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington Kentucky. Unable to get airborne from the shorter runway, the Bombardier CL-600 crashed through the airport fence and impacted an earthen berm and trees beyond the airport perimeter. Sadly, all 47 passengers and 2 of the 3 crew members died.

It was a chaotic Christmas evening at Phoenix Airport when law enforcement officials were informed about a shooting at the airport premises. There were at least two victims with gunshot wounds, and one more person with stab wounds was later found in the parking garage.
