All 62 bodies recovered from Voepass ATR 72-500 crash site in São Paulo

Brazilian authorities have confirmed that all 62 bodies have been recovered from the Voepass ATR 72-500 crash site in São Paulo. The Voepass ATR 72-500 turboprop crashed on August 9, 2024, while flying between Regional West Airport (CAC) in Cascavel and São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). Video footage captured of the crash showed the aircraft falling from the sky while spinning uncontrollably.

Pattaya Airways, a new cargo airline based in Thailand, is celebrating news that it has received its air operator certificate (AOC) from the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Pattaya Airways said that after nine months of “relentless effort and dedication” had finally led to the “significant achievement” of securing its AOC. Pattaya Airways, a subsidiary of Pattaya Group, intends to launch cargo services later this year with two ATR 72-500 freighters that it acquired earlier this year.

Pilot Continues Flight After Gear Torn Off On Takeoff

A Renegade Air Dash-8 with 38 passengers and crew aboard made a successful belly landing after the gear was mostly torn off when it struck a dyke on takeoff from Maban in South Sudan. With portions of the long gear struts dangling from the nacelles, the aircraft continued to Malakal.
