Boeing’s shareholders’ general assembly renewed the terms of all board members, including that of outgoing CEO Dave Calhoun, whose severance package of over $33 million was also approved. The decision was announced on May 17, 2024. Calhoun, an administrator since 2009 and CEO of the aerospace giant since early 2020, is set to leave his position by the end of the year.

A couple of days ago, Frontier Airlines announced that it would radically overhaul its fare structure, and eliminate change fees on most fare bundles. Spirit Airlines has now revealed that it’s eliminating change fees altogether, in a way that’s more generous than the policy of legacy airlines (thanks to @therealmanero for flagging this). The Southern California Airspace Users Working Group is calling on its membership to contact their state senators to block a bill that would begin the phaseout of leaded aviation gasoline in 2027 (amended from 2026). As we reported earlier , State Sen. Caroline Menjivar introduced the bill in February. It calls for banning leaded avgas starting with airports in “disadvantaged” areas on Jan. 1, 2027.
