On October 4, 2024, Qantas announced that the airline would operate two non-stop flights between Cyprus and Sydney. Between the two Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliners provided, 880 Australians will be able to safely return home, away from the volatile current situation in the Middle East.

The airline has also been exploring restructuring its balance sheet through out-of-court transactions, but it seems like a Chapter 11 filing is preferred at this point.
