I did a check on the weather and I noticed how windy the condition is at Lisbon so one thing for sure, this was probably a bumpy flight. Once we were on our way, we encountered some expected turbulence especially flying through the clouds but once we reached our assigned flight level, it was smooth all the way until we were on final approach.

Checking the weather for my flight, there was a bit of weather at Penang and Singapore airport so I completely understand, this is beyond the airline's control. There was turbulence from time to time but nothing bad to mention. In-Flight Entertainment At this point, we started our descent into Singapore. It was good weather at Singapore as our approach and landing was smooth. However, I am happy with the amount of food given to each passenger, that is quite a generous serving.

However, a forecast for low IFR weather in that part of Maine led us to cancel it. I had no interest in flying one hour north only to be shut out of our destination by weather below minimums for the available instrument approach procedure. Still the better part of an hour away from home, weather conditions were concerning.

Anyway we were informed about the turbulence and for this flight, the first officer did the announcements. There were a few good bumps during take off and more of it during the descent especially flying through the clouds. Once we were cleared of the clouds, it was smooth ride all the way until descent.

The gate agent remembered that the weather was terrible: thunderstorms with rain and hail. The bad weather continued to plague them and the crew were concerned about the lightning, icing and turbulence associated with thunderstorms. I should be able to do a video call but if there is turbulence, I won’t be surprised if my phone “fly". The captain came to do the announcement and reported fine weather for most parts of the journey except around Singapore where it would be slightly bumpy during the descent. The day before departure, satisfied that days of consistent weather forecasts reasonably assured a successful flight, I cancelled the rental car reservation. So that was of no help to me.

As this was the first time sitting quite front in the Boeing 767-400ER, I find it to be quite noisy during take off and there was quite a bit of turbulence during the flight. Many hours later, we started our descent into New York. At this point, the flight was smooth thanks to the good weather. We landed smoothly on runway 31L.

What excites me about this trip with GOL is that I finally caught my first 737 MAX ride and also enjoyed the splendid view from Rio De Janeiro to Sao Paulo although the weather was not the best. Anyway, the service on board both flights were great, the crew were professional and they were able to communicate in English.

Therefore it is common for flight delays in departure and arrival especially if the weather is bad. Anyway, fortunately for us, the ride into Delhi was smooth, hardly any turbulence and furthermore the Captain told us the good news and that is the stormy weather forecasted earlier had cleared. So overall, this flight was smooth.
