We flew the usual approaches: VOR, ILS, and the now extinct NDB. Shortly after the Concorde sighting, Charlie signed me off for my checkride. Charlie scheduled my checkride with a local examiner. We even went up the day before the checkride. My NDB approach was flawless. My time had come. There were no surprises.
