There’s even an alert for weight and balance when your center of gravity is out of limits. Runway Final Approach Alert – Alerts when approaching any runway, based on altitude, vertical speed, track, and when within 4 nm of the runway threshold. Here’s a rundown of what you might hear.

Pilots are required to check for NOTAMs along their relevant routes or locations before the start of a flight. NOTAMs are very important in that they can provide information that can cause a pilot to change their flight plans, such as Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) or an airport that has become temporarily unavailable.

Plan for the Conditions During your flight planning: Look up the expected winds at your estimated arrival time. If you overshoot the final, do not make a steep turn or use excessive rudder to correct for it. Final Approach Once established on final, adjust your heading to maintain the extended centerline.
