What I don't understand about this flight though is why they didn't dim the lights during take-off and landing, so it was bright cabin from the departure gate to the arrival gate. For the rest of the flight, the weather was good and we had a smooth landing at Okinawa later, arriving at the airport about 19 minutes ahead of schedule.

Once on board, the cabin crew waiting at the door, showed me to my seat. My first impression of the crew, they seemed nice and I was looking forward to the flight. Mahan Air's A340-600 Our taxi to the runway took about 14 minutes. At this point, only 2 runways were in operation.

When we reached our aircraft, we were the first batch to board so that gave me a chance to explore the cabin. Anyway, once I settled down, the cabin crew came to distribute the menu and also an amenity kit. Once all the passengers settled down and the crew completed the pre-departure checklists, we were on our way.

This time, both of the engines were started after pushed back so no PTU (Power Transfer Unit) - 'barking' noise was heard during our taxi to the runway. It took a while before the seatbelt sign was turned off and the crew started preparing for in-flight service. The 2 hours flight in this cabin was certainly comfortable.

My cabin luggage was able to fit in but it is better to have the handle of the baggage facing you to optimise space. My in-flight experience We boarded with the cabin crew welcoming us. On final approach to LHR runway 27 Left. It was certainly a great day for flying, the weather on route was excellent.

Initially a woman sitting at the aisle seat was willing to change her seat with the wife (sitting a row behind me - middle seat) then after that the cabin crew came to assist and informed them that there was a vacant seat at the first row (no idea which seat it was). One thing I won't miss is the dreadful weather. Here we are!

Do remember to your place your reservation before the deadline of 24 hours before the flight of departure as it would give the kitchen crew some time to prepare your food before being delivered to the aircraft. The cabin crew on board will prepare your food before serving it to you. For my flight, these meals were the options.

My in-flight Experience After boarding the aircraft, the purser standing near the door gave me a half hearted smile and one of the cabin crew (let's call her A) was loud, instructing the passengers like how a school teacher deals with his/her students. Unfortunately weather at Athens was not good, it was quite windy at that time.

The cabin crew generally was nice and I interacted with one asking her what she thinks about this aircraft and from her response she wasn't enthusiastic about working on it and I can understand why. Just took off in this dreadful weather. The weather didn't look too bad. Once our aircraft pushed back, we were on our way.

The weather was cooling and it was a great day for walk. Once that was cleared, the cabin crew were released for duty. Like my previous flights, a set of crew would come around with a camera offering complimentary polaroid photos for the passengers and not surprisingly, they went past me. The weather at Changi was great! Once that was done, we spent about 1/4 of our flight time taxing to runway 20L. The weather that day in Singapore was great and we took off smoothly into the friendly skies. The taxi to runway 20L seem to take forever. This is where my flight departed from. Time to board!

The reason is that the nice cabin crew offered to move my seat mate which she accepted to the front so that she could get off as soon as she can to catch her connecting flight. What else I noted about this flight is the cabin crew made a birthday announcement wishing a 17 years old passenger, a happy birthday (I wonder whether she received anything from the crew - SQ does offer birthday cakes but you need to request in advance) and our first officer on this flight was a female.

The airport currently has 2 terminals in operation with a 3rd terminal currently being built and has 2 runways 05L/23R and 05R/23L, with a 3rd runway being built to manage the increased traffic once the new terminal starts operation. Look at the cabin ambiance, I am a definitely a fan of these colours. The view from my seat.

Here is my ride, B-18907, the aircraft just touched down on runway 20R. My first impression of the cabin, the products of both the businesss and premium economy class seats look dated and I didn't hear much positive review about the premium economy class seat and I can understand why. With 2 runways, (12L/30R and 12R/30L), both runways have sufficent runway length to be able to cope with the heaviest and biggest aircraft, the A380 and Boeing 747-8F. The cabin crew on this flight was certainly better than the previous flight, the ones I met in the lower deck were friendly and helpful.

Once on board, I noticed a cabin crew was serving champagne on a plastic cup and was pleasantly surprised I was given one, I suppose because of the occasion (New Year's Day). Once we were on our way, we flew through a bit of turbulence but once the weather was better, the seat belt sign was turned off. That's a good idea!

The airport mayhave 2 runways (runway 14/32 and runway 09/27) but only one runway is in operation (09/27) and if this runway is in maintenance, the other runway will be in used. Therefore it is common for flight delays in departure and arrival especially if the weather is bad.
