The list of inspections gets longer if the aircraft is for compensation/for hire, or if flown under instrument flight rules (IFR). These checks take a full working day, so the aircraft is usually parked inside of a hangar. These checks require many more man hours, tools, hangar space, and aircraft downtime.

Green – VFR ( Visual Flight Rules ) Ceiling > 3,000 ft. If I see a yellow light, I need to take a close look at winds and runway alignment before driving to the hangar. I chose the default setting of 15 knots because the max demonstrated crosswind component of our Cherokee Six is 17 knots.
