The panel in your airplane shows indicated airspeed (IAS, derived from the pitot tube on the wing), while the iPad shows groundspeed (derived from the GPS in your ADS-B receiver or iPad). While the altimeter in the airplane can be adjusted to correct for the local altimeter setting, there is no temperature knob to twist.

The higher speed creates extra lift, causing the airplane to bank further into the turn. The pilot’s job is to prevent the airplane from banking too quickly or too far. In our example, the right wing has more lift, and thus more drag, than the left wing as the airplane rolls. As the aircraft pitches up, the airspeed drops.
