On the 29th of December 2024, a Boeing 737-800 operated by a low-cost South Korean airline crashed after an emergency landing and overshooting the runway at Muan International Airport in South Korea. The 737 does not use Weight on Wheels (WoW) to enable the thrust reversers. So the 737 T/R uses radio altimeter to enable the reversers.

Air Taxi Prototype Crash at Cotswold Airport

They already have orders for up to 1,000 aircraft, with customers including American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and AirAsia. The prototype lifted off, hovered and flew at a speed of 40 knots before landing. G-EVTL lifted off with all EPUs operating. The rear four-bladed propellers are fixed into place to point vertically upwards.

An incomplete summary description of FASF is whether the airplane made it out of ground effect. To get the extra lift required for the turns, I had to dive to get extra airspeed so that the plane could turn at that same AOA. I could see that the spot on the ground in the windshield that was not moving was short of the runway.
