A LATAM Airlines Boeing 777-300ER suffered a significant tail strike incident in Milan, Italy, with a video of the incident showing the aircraft scraping the tail against the surface of the runway as it attempted to climb out of its departure airport.

Delta Air Lines says the incident caused the tail of the smaller regional aircraft to be sheared off after colliding with an Airbus A350 bound for Japan. Collision Happens as Smaller Jet Rolls on Adjacent Taxiway According to the airline, the incident took place around 10:00 a.m. There were no injuries aboard either flight.

You’d think I would have flown Southwest out to the airline’s own investor day, but you’d be wrong. Sure enough, right as the airplane pulled in at 9:47am, the airline posted a delay to 10:47am. We followed an Air Premia 787 to the end of the runway and the launched into the low marine layer.
