Vortex size is also affected by proximity to the ground. If youre flying low enough to be in ground effect, the vortex isnt able to fully develop. They wont directly change the intensity of the vortex, but theyll help dissipate trailing vortices much quicker than still air. This phenomenon is called Ground Effect.

I was anxious about availability of parking on the ice and punished myself by remotely monitoring the veritable swarm of uplinked aircraft traffic in the pattern at Alton Bay.
