The FFZ airfield has a 900-foot grass runway (18/36) and a low-altitude traffic pattern, allowing for spectators to watch the demonstrations of the slower aircraft. An airfield traffic pattern, also known as a circuit, is a standard path used by air traffic approaching the runway.

When the FRZ was created, three General Aviation airports were trapped inside and became difficult to access.

Rolling out on final approach, I was surprised to see another airplane stopped right at the runway threshold. Usually, Alton Bay volunteers hold departure traffic significantly farther back from the threshold when other aircraft are about to land. It was only half full of parked aircraft. I went airplane spotting.
